How to Make a Nourishing Bowl of Vanilla Almond Oats
Here's a look at a super simple way of making a delicious bowl of vanilla oats to nourish your cells with:
Ingredients: (enough to make 2 servings)
2 cups of unsweetened almond milk
1 cup of quick-cook oats
1 teaspoon pure of vanilla extract or specks from one vanilla bean pod
Pinch of sea salt
1 heaping tablespoon of almond butter
1 heaping tablespoon of crushed almonds
1 cup of fresh berries
Directions:
1. Combine almond milk and quick cook oats in a pot and bring to a mild boil over medium heat, add vanilla extract or specks from vanilla pod plus a pinch of sea salt, then simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes with the lid on.
2. Give your cooked oats a stir and transfer to serving bowls. Top with almond butter, crushed almonds, and fresh berries.
Enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If the berries and almonds don't provide enough natural sweetness, you can add a tablespoon of raw, organic honey or maple syrup to the oats just before you take them off the heat, and stir well before transferring to serving bowls.
