Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a commitment. It is a choice to show mercy, not to hold the offense up against the offender. Forgiveness is an expression of love.
Sincere forgiveness isn't colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don't worry about whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you want to become. Everything else is secondary.
