Music for Health: Now We Are Free, by Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard
While up north for a few days at the end of August to re-charge, I stumbled upon a song that I had longed to hear again, Now We Are Free. Little did I realize it was created for the soundtrack of Ridley Scott's Gladiator. This hauntingly beautiful piece has become my new go-to song for getting into a peaceful and inspired state.
Here's what singer Lisa Gerrard had to say about the lyrics to Now We Are Free:
"I sing in the language of the Heart. It's an invented language that I've had for a very long time. I believe I started singing in it when I was about 12. Roughly that time. And I believed that I was speaking to God when I sang in that language."
