To pick the most delicious strawberries, aim to get them when they are in season locally, and to load up during the early to middle part of their growing season which is when their flavour and nutrient profile are best.  Toward the end of their growing season, strawberries take on a slightly bitter quality.

Strawberries are one of nature's most easily digested foods and are abundant in vitamin C and other antioxidants that clear our cells of excess free radicals.
