Thought of the Moment

Resentment and Reconciliation

I hugged my mom's dead body and cried.  That's when I realized that I had never really hated her. I just wanted to embrace her and reconcile with her.  I just wanted to hug her for a very long time and cry as much as I needed to.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. Read more

A Grace That Calls Us to Humility and Deep Trust In Those Who Love Us

There is a twilight zone in our hearts that we ourselves cannot see. Even when we know quite a lot about ourselves - our gifts and weaknesses, our ambitions and aspirations, our motives and our drives - large parts of ourselves remain in the shadow of consciousness. This is a very good thing. We will always remain partially hidden to ourselves. Other people, especially those who love us, can often see our twilight zones better than we ourselves can. The way we are seen and understood by others is different from the way we see and understand ourselves. Read more
