Hot Chocolate Smoothie - Accidental pudding
When the recipe came out it wasn't cold in FL. Months later when I wanted to try it, I did it from memory;-) I used almond milk instead of water. I used an electric hand blender in the pot and poured it into a mug. After I cleaned up the pot and blender, I went to drink the smoothie. It didn't pour out of the mug! It was not hot, but warm and set up like a soft set pudding. I liked it! I have done the same with soy milk. Setting up seems to depend on the size of the banana. With a smaller banana, it doesn't set up as well. I don't know how it would be cold. I always eat it warm.
Terrific!
This is really nice indeed. As creamy as a milk-based hot chocolate and much easier on the stomach when you're ill. We have them on cool afternoons with wheat germ added for an extra boost of energy. BTW immersion blenders are fine for this.
